Regional Fencing Practice, January 13 in Carolingia

On Sunday, January 13th the Barony of Carolingia will be hosting another EK Regional Fencing Practice from 11am to 5pm. Don Jerryd de Wayne has agreed to share his 5-man melee knowledge and teach tactics and strategies for 5-man units. For those unfamiliar with Don Jerryd, he has won five 5-Man tournaments at Pennsic over the years, although there’s rumors that that is a low ball estimate.

For those who prefer single fencing over melee, there will be plenty for pick up bouts, too. The practice will last for 6 hours. (more…)

Brewing Collegium, February 23 in Eisental

Blessings and cheers to the grand Kingdom of the East. The Abbey of St. Aegir in the Shire of Eisental along with the Brotherhood of Brewers in the southern region are opening the abbey doors so the good gentiles of the East may further their brewing skills. Classes will be covering a range of topics from beginning brewers to the more advanced. The event will take place at the Reading Archery Club. The event includes brewing classes, a brewing contest and the EKBG will do a mock paneling for those interested in becoming involved in the East Kingdom Brewers guild. Students must be 21 to try alcoholic potables. Feel free to bring some of your works with you for the contest or for evaluation and impressions. Feel free to contact Lord William Graham the class coordinator if you would like to teach a class or two at the event. (more…)

Unofficial EK Court Report for 100 Minutes War

The Court of our most excellent prince and lord, King Edward II, by grace most illustrious King of the East, begun and held at the Shire of Rusted Woodlands, on 17 November A.S. 47, and in the first year of his reign. On which day were called all and sundry the lords of the realm and the great men of the kingdom, earls, barons, freeholders and commissioners of the burghs to hear the following publicly proclaimed:

  • Item. His Majesty summoned before him Berric Grayveson and Elysabeth Underhill and, in witness of the skills at rapier demonstrated by the said Berric and the said Elysabeth, did cause their names to be writ upon the rolls of the Order of the Silver Rapier, in witness whereof the said Berric received a document written by Brunisende Dragonette and inscribed by Ekaterina Volkova and the said Elysabeth received a document written by Alys Mackyntoich and inscribed by Chrestienne la pescheresse.
