Unofficial Court Report from K&Q Champions

May 6, 2013 by East Kingdom Gazette

The populace of the East Kingdom gathered together in the Shire of Rusted Woodlands on the 4th of the month of May Anno Societatis 48, called in the Common Era, 2013, to witness the great feats of it’s own warriors as they competed for the honor of being the King’s or Queen’s Champion of Arms.  As befits an event which is the first of a fresh new year, the air was filled with the fresh promise of Spring and the sights of many where fixed upon great new potential.  The format for the day’s competition was explained, as the scent of fire and meat filled the air from the day board offerings.  His Majesty gathered all around to speak of the meaning of that for which they fought this day.  Drawing the sword of state from it’s sheath as it was held by his soon to be retired champion, Brennan mac Fearghus, he read the motto etched upon it, Justitia Virtutum Regina recited it’s translation, Justice is Queen of Virtues, and then discussed the deeper meaning and great honor behind the statement.

And then the competition began.  (more…)

Laurels and Pelicans Wanted For Rematch

April 29, 2013 by East Kingdom Gazette
Kountess of Kaos
Last year’s Kountess of Kaos challenges a heavy list fighter, now known as Their Royal Majesties Gregor and Kiena.

Once again, the Laurels and Pelicans of the East Kingdom will take to the field with boffer weapons and a sense of humor to raise money for the Kingdom.  They will face off in melees for honor, glory and the laughter of the crowd at Panteria XVIII in the Shire of Panther Vale (Thetford, VT) . The peerage that takes the best two out of three will be declared the winner.

Laurels and Pelicans are currently being recruited for this good humored mayhem. Participants will be announced around May 6th at LaurelsvsPelicans.com.  Cut-off for donations will be May 18th, so weapons can be made.  Panteria is also host to order meetings for both peerages.

The boffer weapons that the peers can use are determined by how much money they raise.  They range from a dagger for $25 to a specialty weapon for $100.  Specialty weapons were popular last year and included a giant ladle, a quill pen, Grendel’s arm and a bourbon bottle. (more…)
