I am nearing the end of my first term as Tyger Clerk of the Signet. Since I do not plan on requesting a second term, I am now accepting applications for the position. The applications are due by November 30th. At that time the King and Queen will chose my successor after consulting with the Kingdom Seneschal and me. My term ends at Kingdom 12th Night, and at that time if a successor is chosen they will step into the role.
According to Kingdom law the Tyger Clerk of the Signet:
- Coordinates the production of scrolls requested by The Crown.
- Promotes the development of calligraphers and illuminators in the East Kingdom and warrants said scribes to perform Signet Office work.
- Maintains accurate records of scroll assignments.
Therefore you will need to interact with a large number of scribes of differing backgrounds and skill levels. After receiving recommendations, usually from a scheduler appointed by the King and queen, you will write out an assignment and find an appropriate scribe to do the work. Currently the East Kingdom has 103 active scribes. Therefore interpersonal skills are a must.
The Signet also keeps accurate records of all assignments and backlogs. Multiple databases are used to keep the records straight and the ability to use excel, google drive, sheets and docs is needed. You will be expected to keep dockets for the reign, each individual event, backlogs, and past assignments.
Finally, the Signet should promote learning and enjoyment of the scribal arts with the Scribal Tea at Pennsic, Scholas, Competitions, class tracks and displays among other events.

At this time, I would like to hear from all those that might have interest in being the Central Region Deputy MOL for the kingdom.
This job is a pretty easy one.
The deputy is in charge of keeping an eye on the region. If an event is in need of an MOL, the deputy helps to find someone suitable.
I will often ask my deputies to follow up on reports from Baronies in their region.
Regional deputies are expected to help MOL Crown tournament and K&Q champions tournaments when they fall in their own areas.
I am looking for someone that loves to MOL. Joy in what we do translates over to the list field and allows everyone to have a great time.
You do not have to be a long time MOL to hold this position. All experience levels are welcome to contact me.

East Kingdom Minister of Lists
The Compleat Anachronist is a journal published four times a year. Each issue is approximately 60 pages long and focuses on a single topic relevant to the time period 600 C.E. to 1600 C.E. The single-topic format gives readers an opportunity to review a subject in much more detail than Tournaments Illuminated, a Kingdom Arts and Sciences publication, or a local newsletter can provide.
The Editor is responsible for oversight of all aspects of issue production, including recruiting authors and reviewers, manuscript development, as well as submitting quarterly reports to the Board of Directors and the Publications Manager. A team approach to issue production is encouraged to assist in effective and timely management of the publication. The Editor may recruit a support staff, including assistant editors, graphic artists, and other assistants. The Editor needs to either be, or have on staff, a graphic artist with access to and experience with a computer running Quark or InDesign and the ability to export files to high resolution pdf format. Contributing authors are generally responsible for providing their own illustrations, photographs or other artwork, but it is helpful for the Editor to develop a pool of artists to assist authors if needed.
Qualifications for the position include excellent written and oral communication skills, leadership skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, and strong computer skills. Professional experience in editing, design, art direction or desktop publishing and prior experience in an SCA chronicler position are desirable, but not required. The position requires approximately 20 to 35 hours per month (this includes recruiting authors, screening manuscripts, proofreading, layout, correspondence, and online reviewing). The deadlines to get the finished layout to the printer are 15 December, 15 March, 15 June, and 15 September. The issues are mailed quarterly in January, April, July, and October. Reasonable expenses are covered by the Corporation and may include: paper, printer cartridges, stamps, and a post office box. You will be asked to submit an expense report, with receipts attached, to receive reimbursement. The Editor also receives a small stipend from SCA once an issue is completed.

This office is defined in East Kingdom Law & Policy section IV.F.23.a-g 23.
The East Kingdom Pennsic Steward:
a. Performs an inventory of all East Kingdom Regalia and equipment used specifically for Pennsicand stored at Pennsic War. Ensures that this inventory is supplied to the East Kingdom Exchequer at the end of each Pennsic War.
b. Is responsible for arranging the setup and breakdown of the East Royal encampment at Pennsic War, including but not limited to the water, electrical and rental equipment.
c. Supervises the creation, purchasing, maintenance and repair of all Regalia and equipment stored at Pennsic War.
d. Is responsible for arranging for maintenance, repair and/or replacement as needed of the East Kingdom trailer stored at Pennsic War with approval of the East Kingdom Exchequer and Finance Committee.
e. Is responsible for coordinating with the East Kingdom Exchequer to ensure that all storage fees for the East Kingdom trailer are paid to the storage facility annually.
f. Promotes and encourages improvements for future Royal Encampments.
g. Is responsible to the Kingdom Exchequer.
