Unofficial Court Report for Shire Wars
Though the weather was an unusual mix of sun, rain, and even sleet, Their Majesties Brennan Ri and Caoilfhionn Banri did attend the Shire Wars in the Incipient Shire of Archer’s Ford on 17 October, AS L.
There, they held court.
Their Majesties called before them Magnus Thorfinnsson. They did Award him Arms, naming him a Lord of the Court. He was presented with a wood-burned “scroll” by Arden of Icombe.
Their Majesties welcomed into their court Dennehy Lochlain (note – I am aware I am misspelling this gentle’s name. I wrote out correct pronunciation but not correct spelling. Sorry!) He asked that they confer their blessing on him and his fiancé, Sioban the Harper, for their forthcoming nuptials.
Their Majesties next invited before them Thora Northsea. Though she is young, her many good works were sited, and the Order of the Tyger’s Cub was called forth. She was made a companion of the order, presented with a medallion and a scroll by Aesa Lokabrenna Sturladottir.
The order not yet complete, Brennan and Caoilfhionn called forward Arya the Braider. She, too, was made a companion of the Order of the Tyger’s Cub. Arya was presented with a medallion and a scroll by Aesa feilinn Jossursdottir.
Her Majesty called forward the children who had participated in her Service Initiative. Madelyn, Silvia, Keyra, Cassie, Joesie and Courtney were all presented tokens for their hard work.
The rest of the children were called forth. Miles Boweman took the toybox on it’s run. The children, with the tenacity of fierce velociraptors, gave chase to the amusement of all.
Brennan Ri and Caoilfhionn Banri welcomed before them all those attending their first, second or third event. They thanked them for their participation, and presented them with tokens to remember the day by.
Their Majesties invited before them the event steward, Alexander Makcrystine. He proceeded to call forth the various Marshals in charge and others who ran competitions to present awards. The winners rewarded, Their Majesties presented to Alexander a thank you gift.
Their Majesties called before them Jacob the Wanderer. He presented rewards to the children that had participated in his “inquisition” that day.
Next was Sara Attebrook called before Their Majesties. Following some slight confusion, she presented to them a gift from the people of Archer’s Ford.
Brennan and Caoilfhionn invited before them Jayme Hume of Berwyk. He presented a gift to Their Majesties of two pots of growing medieval roses.
Their Majesties called forth Edmund Forrester. They made him a Lord of the Court, awarding him arms and presenting him with a scroll by Jonathan Blaecstan.
Their Majesties called forth Alice Hanewell. When last they visited this part of the Kingdom, Alice had been Awarded Arms. At the time, her name was Jessica of Blakrose. His Majesty Brennan had challenged her to choose a more appropriate name, lest he choose for her. She presented him with her new name and a handmade scroll to show it had been done.
Now Brennan and Caoilfhionn called forth Violante Valeriano. Noting her contributions to her local community, they did name her a Lady of the Court, and Awarded her Arms. She received a scroll by Katherine Barr.
Their Majesties invited before them Niall Gormal. They proceeded to Award him Arms, making him a Lord of the Court. He received a scroll by Aud Lifsdottir.
Morthwyl Macshane was called into court. He was made a Lord of the Court, and Awarded Arms. He was presented with a scroll by Heather Rose de Gordoun.
Invited to stand before the court, Eckhart Wurm was Awarded Arms. He was named a Lord of the Court, and received a scroll by þóra Eiríksdóttir.
Their Majesties invited before them Aiden Underhill. They presented him with a scroll by Vettorio Antonello, Awarding him Arms and naming him a Lord of the Court.
Thus concluded the Court of the Their Majesties Brennan Ri and Caoilfhionn Banri. Long live the King!
Long live the Queen! Long live the Kingdom of the East!
In service,
Malcolm Bowman, Eastern Crown Herald
