16 th Century Spanish Tailoring Book Re-Print Available Soon

January 15, 2013 by East Kingdom Gazette

The Tailor’s Pattern Book 1589 by Juan De Alcega is going to be re-printed this spring, or summer, as a result of effective petitioning of the publisher.   The reprint price has not been announced yet  but it is expected the reprinting will be small in numbers to test demand.tailor-reproduction-of-a-woodcut-by-jost-amman

This book is a translation and facsimile of “Libro de Geometria, Pratica Y Traca” by a Master Tailor of 16th c. Spain, focusing on measuring and marking out patterns, with small original cutting diagrams of pattern pieces.

Sources suggest contacting your favourite local SCA book seller to see if they will be carrying any copies, and if so, perhaps reserving your copy early!
