Temporary Variance Granted for Minor Policy for Pennsic 48

Editors note: There is currently a policy in the Society Seneschal’s handbook (Section X, subsection 3) that all minors be within sight and sound of their parent or guardian.  While there is a Board of Directors meeting this weekend (July 20th), the Pennsic Staff and Seneschal Team urged the Society Seneschal to grant a variance in advance for Pennsic to give more warning to affected families.

Signet Office Announcement – Backlog Scrolls Ready for Release at GNEW

A message from the Backlog Deputy of the Tyger Clerk of the Signet
Greetings!  I’m Æsa feilinn Jossursdottir (known by most as Feilinn), your Backlog Deputy. I have another round of backlog scrolls ready for delivery to their recipients.
Backlog Scrolls can be picked up at Great Northeastern War in Malagentia this weekend.  I will be in the barn on Saturday between 11am and 12:30pm near the A&S display.  
It is strongly suggested to email the Backlog Deputy (backlog.deputy@eastkingdom.org) to confirm that you will be picking up a scroll.  Local landed Barons/Baronesses and Seneschals are encouraged to pick up scrolls on behalf of members in their local groups if they know the recipient and the recipient cannot make these events.  More pickups will be organized as the year goes on. If you want to arrange pick up outside of these events, please email the Backlog Deputy (backlog.deputy@eastkingdom.org) to discuss.

In Memoriam: Lord Seamus Mac Neachtain

On Sunday, word was received in the Kingdom that Lord Seamus Mac Neachtain, of the Shire of Owlsherst, has passed away. An imposing figure on the field, he was as well known for his generosity, kindness, and leadership as he was for his martial prowess.
Lord Seamus was currently serving the Kingdom as the Captain of HRH Margarita’s guard, and was the only unbelted fighter that advanced to the final 8 combatants in the most recent East Kingdom Crown Tournament. He was widely-respected as the Armored Combat Commander for the Southern Army, leading the South to the prestigious Blue Tyger Legion at Pennsic 47, and he was a three-time member of the unbelted East Kingdom Armored Combat melee team. A squire to Count Ruslan, he was a member of House Gleipnirvirki, fighting as part of the Hrafnox unit. (more…)
