Calling all Teachers and Challengers!

December 7, 2015 by East Kingdom Gazette

unnamedGreetings!  The Arts and Sciences focused Artisans’ Village Event (June 3-5, Shire of Hartshorn-dale) is looking for teachers and challengers. The goal of the Village is to create a friendly and supportive environment for artisans to gather together to demonstrate and practice their crafts, and for people to try something new. The event is being presented with the support of the East Kingdom University.
Classes will be held both Saturday and Sunday. If you are interested in teaching a class at the event, please contact Lady Elysabeth (Lissa) Underhill at laralu@gmail.com to volunteer.
Instead of a traditional A&S display or competition, members of the populace are invited to challenge others to complete a focused A&S project. In the past, there has been a wide array of challenges, such as: creating a period bow string, developing a persona story, making an item of food or dress related to a particular culture, etc. Anyone is welcome to submit a challenge. More information and a list of past challenges is available on the event website.  If you have questions or wish to issue a challenge, contact Baroness Isabelle de Montreuil sur Mer at university@eastkingdom.org

Please also note that there is a list of 8 wonderful villages on the event website where A&S demonstrations on different topics will be held all day Saturday. Thanks to the village coordinators and others who have already volunteered to demonstrate at the event.
