Unofficial Court Report: 12th Night and Carillion Investiture
The Court of our most excellent prince and lord, Edward, by right of arms most illustrious King of the East, third of that name, and Thyra, his Queen by agency of that same right, second of that name, held upon 17 January in the forty-ninth year of the Society in the Barony of Carillion; on which day were called all and sundry the lords of the realm and the great persons of the kingdom to hear the following publicly proclaimed:
Item. In the first sitting of Their Majesties’ Court, Their Majesties gave thanks to Kis Mária (called Mika) for her good, faithful and notable service holding the lands as Baroness of Carillion and, as token of her merit and great nobility, created the said Mária a Baroness of their Court, the which deed was confirmed in a document illuminated by Lillian atte Valeye and calligraphed by Jonathan Blaecstan.
Item. Their Majesties invested Corcrán mac Diarmata as Baron of Carillion, the which deed was confirmed in a document created by Vettorio Antonello.
Item. Their Majesties invested Luned Gwyn as Baroness of Carillion, the which deed was confirmed in a document calligraphed by Kateryne of Bakestondone and illuminated by Boudicea Ravenhair.
Item. Their Majesties gave thanks to Mistress Kayleigh Mac Whyte for her service as Tyger Clerk of the Signet and bid her take her rest; whereupon they accepted the oath of Mistress Nest verch Tangwistel as the new Tyger Clerk.
Item. Their Majesties thanked Lady Gabriella de Bas Serra for her service as Kingdom Minister of Arts and Sciences and bid her take her rest; whereupon they and accepted the oath of Mistress Rainillt Leia de Bello Marisco as the new Minister of Arts and Sciences.
Item. Their Majesties accepted the oath of Lord Cristoff Gockerhan von Loch as the new Kingdom Chamberlain.
Item. Their Majesties called before them Sabine de Kerbriant and instructed her to go forth to the place prepared for her to sit vigil and prepare to answer the question whether she would join the Order of the Laurel.
Item. Their Majesties called before them Karl Meerstappa and instructed him to go forth to the place prepared for him to sit vigil and prepare to answer the question whether he would join the Order of the Chivalry.
Whereupon, Their Majesties adjourned their Court until the hour of tierce, at which time such further business was done and caused to be done:
Item. Their Majesties accepted the fealty of Baron Corcrán and Baroness Luned for the lands and privileges of Carillion.
Item. Their Majesties gave tokens of welcome to newcomers to the Society.
Item. Their Majesties summoned before the Court Laurencia von Heisler, whereupon they inducted the good lass into the Order of the Tyger’s Cub, the which deed was confirmed in a document created by Shoshana Gryffyth.
Item. Their Majesties called into their presence Caitilín ingen Donndubáin, whereupon they welcomed the said Caitilín into the Order of the Tyger’s Cub, the which deed was confirmed written in English by Theodora Bryennissa and in Gaelic by Medhbh inghean ui Cheallaigh, and calligraphed and illuminated by Wulfgar Silverbraid.
Item. Their Majesties demanded the attendance of Antonio Patrasso and took testimony as to the merits of the said Antonio from Peers of the Realm and a good man of the common people; whereupon they elevated the said Antonio to the Order of the Pelican, the which deed was memorialized in a document authored in English by Alys Mackyntoich, translated into Italian by Martyn de Haliwell, and calligraphed and illuminated by Eva Woderose.
Item. Their Majesties made gifts of toys to the children of the East.
Item. With leave of their Majesties, Countess Caoilfhionn gave tokens to children who had participated in the Children’s Service Initiative.
Item. Their Majesties issued a proclamation in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the guild of Athena’s Thimble.
Item. Their Majesties accepted words and gifts from the Crown of the Middle Kingdom, conveyed by their ambassadress, Mistress Zsof.
Item. Their Majesties announced the creation of the Kingdom of Avacal from the northern reaches of An Tir.
Item. His Highness announced the appointment of Master Padraig Dubh MacEanruig as the Warlord for the upcoming Pennsic War.
Item. His Highness announced the appointment of Don Lottieri Malocchio as the Rapier General for the upcoming Pennsic War.
Item. Their Majesties summoned Theodora Bryennissa, called Treannah, before the Tyger Thrones and, praising her many good works, inducted her into the Order of the Silver Crescent, the which deed was memorialized in a document authored by Rowen Cloteworthy and calligraphed and illuminated by Wulfgar Silverbraid.
Item. Their Majesties awarded Arms to Vachir Arslajin, the which deed was memorialized in a document created by Astrid Feilan.
Item. Their Majesties awarded Arms to Tumen Qorchi, the which deed was memorialized in a document created by Shoshana Gryffyth.
Item. Their Majesties summoned before the Tyger Thrones the good lady Dosalena Sofia della Mirandola and, praising her skills with pen and brush, inducted her into the Order of the Maunche, the which deed was confirmed by a document created by Nataliia Anastasiia Evgenova.
Item. Their Majesties further inducted Celebriande of Owlsherst into the Order of the Maunche, the which deed was memorialized in a document illuminated by Dosalena Sofia della Mirandola and calligraphed by Lada Monguligin.
Item. Their Majesties demanded the presence of Karl Meerstappa to answer the question put before him in the morning, to wit: whether he would join the Order of the Chivalry; whereupon their Majesties heard testimony from worthy Peers of the Realm and did create the said Karl a Master of Arms; and the said deed was memorialized in a runestone carved by Kenric aet Essex, inscribed with the words of Toki Redbeard that had been translated into Old Norse by Fridrikr Tomasson.
Item. Their Majesties called before the Court their servant Ari of Hartshorndale and awarded him Arms, the which deed was memorialized in document created by Eowyn Eilonwy of Alewife Brook.
Item. Their Majesties summoned Gwendolyn verch Gwilliam ap Gwilliam into their presence and awarded her Arms, the which deed was confirmed in a woodblock print created by Naomi bat Avraham with words by Andrew Schickard.
Item. Their Majesties called David of Hartshorndale before the Tyger Thrones and thereupon awarded Arms unto the said David.
Item. Their Majesties then summoned Kathryn Perry into their presence and, wishing to honor her talents in dress-making, cooking and dancing, elevated her to the Order of the Maunche, the which deed was memorialized in a document authored by Kolozsvári Árpád and calligraphed and illuminated by Palotzi Marti.
Item. Their Majesties requested their presence of Samuel di Bianco, whereupon they gave good report of the skills at cookery of the said Samuel, and, do doing, caused him to be added to the Order of the Maunche, the which deed was memorialized in a brass plaque created by Cormac Mór and bearing the words of Martyn de Haliwell.
Item. Whereupon the good Maitre Lucien de Pontivi begged leave of Their Majesties to honor his lady Aildreda de Tamworthe in song, and led the assembled Court in harmonious praise of the said Dreda, at the conclusion of which, their Majesties summoned the Order of the Laurel and commanded the said Dreda to give answer whether she would join that august company upon the 21st day of February in Dragonship Haven; a Writ thereupon was issued bearing the calligraphy and illumination of Alexandre St. Pierre and the words of Maitre Lucien, translated into Latin by Master Steffan ap Kennydd.
Item. Their Majesties commanded the presence of Sabine de Kerbriant to answer the question previously put before her; and the said Sabine stating that she would accept the accolade of the Order of the Laurel, their Majesties then took testimony from noble Peers and a good lady of the common people; whereupon they caused the said Sabine to be inducted into the Order aforesaid; in memory whereof the said Sabine was gifted with a portrait created by Reiner Verplanck, a poem by Ysmay de Lynn, and a triptych created by Arden of Icombe.
Item. Their Majesties thanked the musicians who had played for the courts.
I, Alys Mackyntoich, Eastern Crown Herald, wrote this to memorialize and make certain all such things that were done and caused to be done as above stated.
