Call for Volunteers: Pennsic EK Garden area set up

Hello everyone from the East Kingdom Pennsic Steward –

The last few years we have made a conscious effort to move the public space in the royal encampment from a place that is used just for reserved events, to a space that can be used by anyone in the East Kingdom, that also gets used occasionally for special events.

So, I want to make sure that everyone knows that they are welcome to use the Queen’s Garden or the large public tent when it is not being used for functions. (These will be listed on the chalk board out front by the day. ) Feel free to take a break in the shade or use the misting area. We are at the North End of E06 – just southwest of the War Room two and a half blocks east of the Cooper’s Store. If you need some shade between classes, to charge your cell phone, or a place to rest your feet after shopping & before heading back to camp, feel free to drop in.
To get this space setup for the populace, we NEED volunteers to help with both setup and pack down.

· Setup will be Tuesday of Peace week 10am

· Pack Down will be Friday of War Week at 2pm.

I expect both work calls to take about 2 hours, but if you can’t show up until later, or need to leave early, I understand. You are volunteers, and I want to respect your time. If you haven’t done this before, it is a great way to meet other members of our far-flung kingdom. Mistress Eleanor worked very hard to update the procedures to allow the tasks to be done by most anyone, and I want to thank her for that, and Speedbump for maintaining it. The days of digging post holes for the wind walls are long gone.

If anyone wants to supervise a small crew for setup or tear down, let me know and we can find a project for you.
