THE MODERN WORLD COLLIDES WITH THE SCA AGAIN!
BARONY OF IRON BOG
FEBRUARY 16, 2013
Don’t miss this event! The only complaint last year was that it was too hard to choose between the classes being offered.
Have you ever had questions about copyrights for your art or published work, or trademarks for your business? How about patents for an invention you came up with? Or how insurance works in relation to officers and other aspects of our organization?
These are only a few ways in which the modern world impacts the game we play.
This event is an opportunity to learn about the interplay of the modern world issues into our venue. Professionals, both SCAdian and SCAdian friendly, will be presenting classes on topics that effect may facets of our organization.
We are looking for teachers for the event. If you are willing to share your professional experience in a manner that can better our scadian experience, please contact Mistress Katherine. Some examples of teachers in fields of interest would be project managers, accountants, employment recruiters, attorneys and medical professionals.
Also, there has been a suggestion that the classes be recorded and then uploaded. We would be greatly appreciative of any volunteers that could assist with this mission.

This event was extremely informative last year. The classes were interesting and thought provoking. I highly recommend attending for all those Seneschals, Event Stewards, and Head Cooks who want to expand their knowledge of Society vs. real world issues. Even the everyday SCAdian will find things they never knew about the behind the scenes happenings at events.
anyone else find it unfortunate that this conflicts with King’s and Queen’s A&S Champions?
It is unfortunate, but there were reasons it fell out that way. I beleive we will be running this event again. Hopefully it won’t be against a Kingdom Championship next time. 🙂
