The East won all three armored field battles today.
The fencing field battles were split, with two won by the Mid and one by the East, giving the war point to the Midrealm.

Today’s Arts & Sciences war point featured displays from 30 artisans from around the known world. The East’s artisans showed their work with furniture, casting, clothing, metalwork, glass beads, calligraphy and illumination, and a medieval fiber study by the Princess of Acre (who was selected for the war point as a citizen of the East).
The final point tally was 527 points for the East and 445 points for the Middle, giving the war point to the East. Participants in the judging consisted of individuals with a Kingdom-level arts and sciences award, and the participants came largely from the Midrealm (110), Atlantia (73), East (72), Aethelmearc (50), and Ealdormere (26).

In an effort to encourage crossing over to different fields at the war, I would like to announce the following:
If you compete in armored combat, rapier, archery, or thrown weapons, and you compete in all war point activities which you are eligible for in at least two of these areas, I would like to recognize your efforts with a token.
(For archery and thrown weapons, that means throwing or shooting each shoot/throw as many times are you are allowed.)
If you compete in all war point activities for three of these areas, there will be a slightly different token.
If you compete in all four, well, one, you’re insane. But if you do, I’ll have to think of something because I don’t really expect it… 🙂
Yesterday the Pennsic War continued with four more war points decided in three separate events.
The Thrown Weapons Tourney of Champions war point was won by Aethelmearc and its allies.
The armored fighters met over the walls of the fort in the Castle Battle with both points going to Aethelmearc.
The rapier fighters clashed at the fort in the Manor Battle with the Midrealm and Eastern forces winning the war point.
At the end of two days of combat the score is as follows:
Aethelmearc and allies : 5
Eastrealm and Midrealm: 3
Don Malocchio, Captain General of Rapier for the East reported that there were 210 rapier fighters taking the field for the Eastern and Midrealm army and that Aethelmearc fielded 260 rapier fighters. Don Malocchio had this to say about the rapier war point battle “Our troops fought their hearts out and I’m so, so proud of all of them.”
July 14, 2015 Correction: Practices/tryouts for the Archery Champions Teams will be held Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 5pm to 7pm — not on Tuesday.
Reported by Baroness Ygraine of Kellswood
Shoot the War Points for the East and our Midrealm allies, shoot for the fun of it, or both! There will be plenty of opportunities again this year. Target archery accounts for 7 War Points — 1 for the Archery Champions Team competition, and 2 each for the 3 traditional populace shoots. The populace results will be announced on Friday.
Range set-up takes place on Monday, July 27, starting at 9am, and assistance is very welcome.
The Archery Ranges are officially open from 9am to 5pm beginning Sunday, August 2.
