A number of regular Pennsic merchants will be there, as will many merchants those from the East who haven’t traveled to western wars and events may not have seen before, so take a moment to check out the list:
The Birka event website has been updated with the (tentative) overall schedule. The schedule of classes and meetings should be posted soon. Please see: http://www.birka.org/cms/schedule/
This annual event is always chock-full of activities, and this year is no exception. There will be: fighting, fencing, dancing, Royal and Baronial Court, arts and sciences displays and classes, middle eastern activities, guild meetings, noble visitors from other Kingdoms, and — as always — the best shopping North of Pennsic!
As Birka draws many attendees who are not SCA members, the event’s Gold Key staff can lend suitable garb, and the Baron and Baroness of Stonemarche are offering a special “Welcome Tour” for folks who are new to the event or to the SCA.
Lady Carllein has provided significant service to the SCA by offering titles on the many subjects of interest to medieval researchers, artisans and readers. Her selections have included hard-to-find and out-of-print titles, books for young folk, manuscript facsimiles, and many other treasures.
After more than 20 years of carting her heavy wares throughout the East and beyond, Lady Carllein is finally retiring to her country home and closing her shop – and she is currently running a Going Out of Business Sale! Generous discounts are available on her remaining inventory. She will be selling at several upcoming events and is willing to reserve books for pickup as well as ship orders.
