Pennsic 51 Archery – Sunday, Aug. 4
Today was the first day of Populace War Point shooting, and the weather cooperated.
Here are the results:
Sunday - Aug.4 East Middle Clout - Points 1025 627 Soldier - Points 595 404 Window - Points 284 118
Today’s Marshal Meeting had to be canceled due to scheduling conflicts. The next scheduled meeting is Monday, Aug. 5, at 10am. If you’re a marshal willing to help but you have not been able to attend a meeting, let the archery leadership know so they can share the info in small groups or individually.
Although Ullr’s Games had to be cut short yesterday, Lady Treya min Teanga shared this:
“53 Archers made it up to the range and shot at least three targets. Range was closed down for the day by 11:20am, rain had already stopped the shooting around 11am. Only a few people got all the way through. Thunder and threat of lightening, and satellite showing a terrible day determined the cancellation. We had 10 stations with targets from four different kingdoms.”
It is sad that the shoot was cut short, after so much work had been done. The competition is long and takes up the whole range, so it could not be rescheduled.
And in news far from Pennsic: Olympic Archery — USA got the bronze medal in mixed team on Friday (Casey Kaufhold from PA and Brady Ellison from AZ), and the silver medal in the men’s individual today (Brady Ellison).
