Two Announcements from the East Kingdom Seneschal
Announcement Regarding Streaming at Events
As we all know, many people love the ability to livestream events to Facebook or YouTube, etc. This is especially true of Crown Tournament.
This past weekend a phone had been set on a tripod pointed at some of the lists and set to record. The phone was left unattended. From a quick glance, it appeared the phone may have been streaming to a social media service. Several people were standing around having conversations and did not realize the device was recording. I inquired around the area to see if anyone had just stepped away for a moment, but no one had seen anyone at the phone in quite some time. I took the liberty to stop the recording at that time.
I want to remind everyone that leaving an unmanned device recording (regardless of whether or not it is streaming) is unacceptable. Not everyone wishes to be recorded, and sometimes conversations which are intended to be private happen which are picked up by the microphone.
If you wish to record/stream tournaments or events, it is important to have a person with your camera at all times. That person is responsible for letting those around know that recording/streaming is happening. This gives the other attendees the option to walk away from the recording area.
If you would like to record your bouts during practices, I strongly encourage you to ask your fellow attendees if they are okay with it. Everyone likes to see everyone get better. And often, people study themselves to learn. I absolutely support this method. I just want to make sure people have the option to decline.
Please be courteous to your friends and other attendees.

Announcement – People on the Move
Good afternoon, Tyger Populace!
I’m long overdue in announcing some role changes here in the Office of the Kingdom Seneschal.
In the early summer, I asked Mistress Medhbh inghean ui Cheallaigh to shift from being the Deputy Kingdom Seneschal and into a more project-oriented role. Medhbh has been an asset to the Kingdom in ways I cannot begin to quantify. Her skillset and flexibility make her uniquely qualified to work on standing up some projects that are long overdue. As such, Medhbh is now the Deputy for Operations here in the Seneschal Office. One of her current projects is to stand up a more detailed training for Seneschals, both local and regional. Stay tuned for more information, and if you have any specific questions, she can be reached at ops-seneschal@eastkingdom.org.
With the Deputy role vacant, I asked Master Thomas of Effingham to work more closely with me and handle some of the day to day goings on within the Kingdom. Thomas and I have been able to work together extremely well, and I am thankful for the opportunity to get to know him better in the process. Thomas can be reached at deputy-seneschal@eastkingdom.
Thomas has been handling both Central Region Deputy as well as Kingdom Deputy side by side. To that end, the Central Region role will be vacant and we’ll be working to fill that timely. Stay tuned as applications will be posted for that shortly.
I want to thank both Medhbh and Thomas for their flexibility and support through the last several months, both for the Kingdom and myself. Congratulations to both on their new roles and I look forward to seeing what comes next!
