Archery Champions Issue a Challenge
Greetings from the Consort’s and Sovereign’s Champions of Archery.
This year we, Ryan and Ciaran, are issuing a challenge to the East Kingdom archers. As we travel
around the Kingdom we plan to bring with us a head-to-head single elimination archery tournament at
any event which will host us. At the opening of next year’s Consort’s and Sovereign’s Archery
Championship the person with the most accumulated points from this tournament circuit will be named
the Holder of the Golden Arrow of the East for the next year.
The tournament will be held Atlantean speed tournament style. It will consist of nine targets, 4
per side and one in the middle. The four side targets must be hit before shots on the center count.
Whichever archer hits the center target first advances. Three points will be awarded for first place, two
points for second place, and one point for both third and fourth places.
It is not our intention to supplant any planned archery at any given event. We want to be as
non-invasive as possible and we do not expect every archery event to host us. We will be contacting
Archery marshals for events that we plan on attending and will publish in all the usual official channels,
as well as social media and the Gazette, where any tournament round will be held.
Furthermore, we challenge all Grandmaster Bowmen and Sagittariuses to issue their own
challenges wherever they find themselves shooting this year. Be it something as mundane as giving a
token to the first person to hit a specific spot on a target, or as complex as a prize shoot arranged with
the consent of the Marshal in Charge. The challenges should encourage all those of all skill levels to
come have fun at the range. Encouragement of archery at all levels starts with the leaders of the
community.
In Service,
Baron Ryan Mac Whyte, Consort’s Champion
Don Ciaran Ua Meic Thire, Sovereign’s Champion.
