Current Society & East Kingdom COVID Policies
From the Kingdom Seneschal:
These are the policies in place as of today, December 5, 2021
1. There is an updated protocol for what to do if there’s a possible COVID exposure at an event, practice, meeting, etc. All branch seneschals have been sent the protocol. If someone notifies you about a possible COVID exposure at your event (etc), contact your branch seneschal or the Kingdom Seneschal.
2. All other policies remain the same (see the Kingdom Seneschal page for full policy details and other information: https://seneschal.eastkingdom.org/gate-in-a-box-covid-edition/):
Society COVIDSafe policy
*** All attendees ages 12 and up at all events, meetings, practices, etc., must show proof of full vaccination or have a medically-supervised negative COVID test dated within 72 hours of the start of the event.
*** Attendees aged 18 and up must also show gov’t issued ID.
*** Contact tracing information (legal name and either a phone number or email address) must be collected for all attendees.
*** Those who check the COVIDSafe documents for attendees must sign an attestation sheet stating such.
*** Branch seneschals have been discussing implementation details, so if you’re running an event (etc), check in with your branch seneschal
East Kingdom policy
*** Masks must be worn indoors at all times, including while engaged in fighting. Masks may be lowered briefly to eat or drink, but do not walk around with your mask lowered while you occasionally sip your beverage.
*** Masks must be worn outdoors at all times, except while engaged in fighting. When the helm comes off, the mask goes on.
3. A few frequently asked questions:
*** Can we have a dayboard/feast/vigil food? Yes, but take extra precautions to serve the food safely. Consider pre-packaged individual servings, or gloved & masked staff to serve portions, for example. Consider the logistics of how people will move through the space and keep going, rather than linger and chat near the food.
*** Is pre-registration required? No, but it’s a really good idea, especially for larger events. This will help you control the number of people on site, will allow you to collect contact tracing information ahead of time, and will generally speed up the gate process.
*** Can we collect COVID status information ahead of time, or make a list of vaccinated folks so we don’t need to see documentation each time? No. All attendees need to show their vaccination card or negative test results for each event, practice, meeting, etc.
