Crown Tournament Processional Update
Good afternoon, East Kingdom!
Your Crown Tournament Stewards are here to share some more *very important* information! This is especially important for The Combatants and Consorts, so please read the information thoroughly.
First, Gate will open at 8:30AM for Combatants and Consorts. Please use this.
Second, we are making a major change to the morning flow.
With the blessings of Their Majesties and the Kingdom Staff involved, we are going to be altering how the morning “schedule” looks with the hopes of saving some time and potentially creating a process which can be used during future Crown Tournaments.
Traditionally, the entire processional of Combatants and Consorts is done as one long piece. When the list pool is deep, this can make for a very long march. In addition, it means that the check in process with the Minister of the Lists, Heralds, and Marshals takes additional time.
With that said, for this Crown Tournament, we will be dividing the processional into two groups based on the list announced by Their Majesties. Each pair will be assigned a group and have set line up times. There will be a small “break” between the two marches for Their Majesties to take care of some court business.
Why are we doing it this way? To help manage the traffic at the various check ins with MoL, Heralds, and Marshals.
While Group A is processing, Group B will be getting inspections, handing their Shield over to Jongleur, and checking in with the Minister of the Lists. And of course, while group B is processing, Group A will be doing their check ins.
To help make this process easier for the Combatants and Consorts, we have devised a Cunning Plan™. When you arrive at Gate, you will receive a sheet with your Group designation, your position in the lineup, and your lineup times.
As a reminder, between the two processionals, Their Majesties will be taking some time to handle some court business. This will allow our heralds to organize the lineup for the 2nd march.
We hope that this process helps things run smoothly, and can be used for future tournaments with deep lists.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions!
