Unofficial Court Report: K&Q Rapier Champions
The Court of our most excellent prince and lord, Edward, by right of arms most illustrious King of the East, third of that name, and Thyra, his Queen, held in the Canton of Black Icorndall in the Barony of Bhakail upon 18 October in the forty-ninth year of the Society; on which day were called all and sundry the lords of the realm and the great persons of the kingdom to hear the following publicly proclaimed:
Item. The Ladies of the Rose came before the Tyger Throne and presented tokens to those combatants whose comportment, countenance and courtesy in the lists were pleasing to their eyes, and those gentle persons were Jenevieve Spillane, Llewellyn Walsh and Caoilfhionn ingen ui Fhaelain.
Item. His Majesty thanked Don Donovan Shinnock for his service as his Rapier Champion and called forth Sir Antonio Patrasso, victor of the day’s tournament, to take up his place as King’s Rapier Champion. Sir Antonio received the tokens and ensigns of the office and a document memorializing his deeds prepared by Arden of Icombe.
Item. Her Majesty thanked Don Thomas of Effingham for his service as her Rapier Champion and called forth Lady Sorcha Dhocair to take up the place of Queen’s Rapier Champion. Lady Sorcha received the tokens and ensigns of the office and a document memorializing her worth prepared by Arden of Icombe.
Item. Their Majesties accepted the fealty of Lady Sabina Luttrell, Kingdom Minister of the Lists.
Item. Their Majesties caused Elizabeth Elenore Lovell to be brought before the Tyger Throne and, praising her many labors for the benefit of the Kingdom, did cause the said Elizabeth to be inducted into the Order of the Silver Crescent, the which deed was memorialized in a document authored by Alys Mackyntoich, illuminated by Ro Honig von Somerfeldt and calligraphed by Caroline de LaPointe.
Item. Their Majesties caused gifts of toys to be distributed to the children of the East.
Item. Their Majesties summoned into the Court Giancarlo Soranzo da Venezia, often called “Narlo,” and thereupon awarded him Arms, the which deed was memorialized in a document created by Vettorio Antonello.
Item. Their Majesties summoned before them Muin maqq Minain, artisan in metal, and caused him to be inducted into the Order of the Maunche, the which deed was memorialized in a document created by Jonathan Blaecstan and Melisande of the Gryphon Wood.
Item. Lupold Haas was commanded before the Tyger Throne, whereupon he was made a member of the Order of the Silver Rapier.
Item. Their Majesties invited into their presence newcomers to the Society and gave them tokens of welcome in memory of the day.
Item. Their Majesties summoned into their presence Sabine de Kerbriant, whereupon they served upon the said Sabine a Writ commanding that she sit vigil for the Order of the Laurel upon January 17th at the celebration of Twelfth Night in the Barony of Carillion, the which Writ had been written by Brunissende Dragonette and calligraphed by Alexandre St. Pierre.
