Youth Combat and combat involving minors is not suspended in the State of Pennsylvania, and shall continue according to established Society and Kingdom guidelines. This includes archery, siege, equestrian and thrown weapons.
Join the Barony of Carolingia (northeastern Massachusetts) for a day full of activities for all ages on May 3rd. Spend the day trying out all the Society has to offer for our younger members, from youth combat to classes on all manners of arts and sciences, from dancing and music to thrown weapons. There will be equestrian activities, youth fencing, archery, and much more.
Come meet other parents with children around your child’s age with parent and child meet and greets, bring the garb your children have outgrown to swap with other parents, and enjoy a sumptious dayboard of kid-friendly treats prepared by Ulf and Justinius, under the supervision of Fergus Redmeade.
Teens and Tweens! Come learn to make cheese, help out in the kitchen, or work gate. Have a skill you know how to do? Come teach it to younger kids. Bring the Arts and Sciences project you are working on to display, learn a new skill in one of our classes or pick up a new martial art.
If you would like to teach a class, please contact Baroness Leonete. You do not need a background check or specific experience teaching children in order to teach, and we are happy to help you adapt your class for the younger set. We are especially looking for those under 18 willing to teach.
Feel free to crosspost this announcement
Yours in Service,
Baroness Leonete D’Angely

At Her Majesty’s whim, a Youth Rose Tournament was held before Crown Tournament this past weekend. For those unfamiliar with youth combat, it is run much in the style of adult combat. Each fighter was sponsored by a Lady of the Rose, or a few Ladies of the Rose. The tourney was run as a bear pit. When a fighter won a bout he brought his Rose or Roses a rose, and returned to the list to fight the next combatant. The honor and chivalry of the young fighters was so inspiring that it caused Baroness Aneleda to set words to paper in commemoration.

Pennsic is fast-approaching, with Land Grab Saturday less than 123 days away! I would ask that each of you pass on my message to your relative Kingdom, Province, Regional, and even local e-mail and social media lists/groups. Even if you are unable to help on the ground at Pennsic, getting word out is always greatly appreciated!
As many of you know, different Kingdoms often sponsor a day of activities and/or classes at Youth Point, this has served as the primary source of activity for Youth Point. Last year the Midrealm, the East, Æthelmearc, and Atlantia all sponsored a day of classes and activities at Youth Point. This year we’ve also got the regularly scheduled fishing class with field trip, and the Youth A&S Display, there are also three different age tracks in the Youth Theatre Program, a Youth Choir, and of course, Youth Point closes down during the Atlantia-sponsored Children’s Fete to be held in the new Great Hall this year.
