Throughout much of the East Kingdom the unofficial start of the camping season is Memorial Day weekend (this year it falls on May 24 – 27th) and the Kingdom Event Calendar boasts two excellent camping events for you to get out of your winter habitation and spend some time “on campaign” with your fellow medievalists. Soak up the late spring sunshine, get in the first big melee or woods battle of the season, shop ’til you drop, and get your garb and equipment a fresh infusion of wood smoke as you join in the revelry around the campfire.

from the trees and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. The cold, hard, fallow season can’t be far behind. Fight off the winter blahs during the months ahead by planning and preparing for the new campaigning season next summer. Several events are already on the East Kingdom Event Calendar including the following:

Come and help us celebrate our 18th year. We will once again offer Heavy List and Youth Fighting. There will be Fencing, Archery and Thrown Weapons. There will be Classes and displays for A&S. And of course activities for our youth. We hope the Equestrians will join us again this year.

It’s not 2013 yet, but set your calendars and make your plans for a long weekend of dancing and music, colour and pageantry to astound and amaze. Informal and formal balls Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon with classes for dancers and musicians beginning through advanced Friday morning through Sunday morning. The website is now up and with frequent updates. Pre-registration is open including ACCEPS for credit card payments. Be certain that if you like to dance, or if you think you’ll like to dance or if music is your passion, then this is the event for you.
